Our mission is to engineer the best database tools on the planet, championed by users due to their superior quality and excellent user experience.
DbVisualizer has been leading the way in equipping database professionals at the best companies around the world for over two decades. Our foundation is built on providing highly engineered tools that enable users to connect, manage, and optimize databases and their data. Today, we're proud to be recognized as the Database Tool and SQL IDE with the highest user satisfaction, with over 6 million downloads and customers such as NASA, Apple, Uber, Netflix and more. Yet, our story is far from complete.
We're looking for great people to join our team. If you're passionate about your work and like having fun doing it, apply to one of our open positions below.
We are looking to extend our dynamic core development team. As all team members are senior, we are looking for a Senior Developer to help shape the future of our tool.
We're looking for someone to come on board a long-term journey with us, fostering team synergy and ensuring the tool's continuous evolution. You'll be joining a compact and cohesive team that already has robust structural capital, including efficient tools and methodologies. That said, we highly value self-initiative and your ideas and contributions won't just be acknowledged—they'll be celebrated. As part of the role you will engage directly with our users to grasp their product usage, help solve their challenges, and pinpoint areas of improvement.
Our developers work with multi-disciplinary roles where each developer gets to own and participate in the full lifecycle of new features. This means analyzing, architecting, designing, coding, testing, shipping and supporting our new features - so we take full responsibility for the quality, as this is how we differentiate.
We expect you to have good skills in Java, databases, JDBC, SQL and user interface design. Experience from multiple data sources would be a bonus.
DbVisualizer is engineered using Java and a specific set of tools, found below. We're planning to enhance and expand it by for example adding server-side features, real-time collaboration, and AI capabilities. The details are still in the works, and perhaps you could be a part of shaping them?

We are looking for a senior developer to join our core development team that’s building the DbVisualizer desktop tool in Java
It’s an assignment with a high degree of freedom where your own initiatives will be rewarded. You will also be interacting with end users to understand how they use our product, what problems and improvements they see etc. in order to also functionally contribute to make the product better. Our office is located in Sickla but we encourage working from home until further notice due to COVID-19.
In general, this is a mature and advanced assignment. You will join a small team with good structural capital in existing tools and working methods. You are of course part of further developing that part, but there is no fire fighting needed to get started. We are looking for someone who with a longer time perspective can be part of a well-functioning team. We expect you to have good skills in Java, SQL and Swing; experience from several databases would be a bonus. The developers are also serving the users with product support gaining valuable feedback without mediators.
Below is some information about the tools and frameworks that are used.
We are looking forward to your application! Send it to [email protected].
Sincerely,
DbVisualizer Team
